This welcoming Yiddish word means "family" and our friend Caryn Rothenberg will be here to show us some of the dishes that favorites in her Jewish home. Caryn will treat you like family as she gives you a peek into the delicious Jewish culinary tradition.
Chicken & Matzoh Ball Soup - You've heard it called Jewish Penicillin. Whether it cures all ills or not, it's a hearty, easy-to-make ahead soup that's hearty enough for a meal.
Roasted brisket - Slow-roasted with a rich, beefy, caramelized onion gravy. Fall-apart tender and moist. Mmmmmm!
Pan-Roasted Potatoes - the pan juices roast right into these potatoes to give them an indescribably good flavor that you just can't get with mashed.
Sweet Kugel - an unusual side dish to accompany the roast. Come see what you've been missing out on. Noodles, eggs, sour cream with a bit of butter and sugar. A must-try!
Carrot Souffle - We can't wait to try this. One of Caryn's husband's favorites.
Mandel Bread - Best described as Jewish biscotti. Loaded with chocolate chips, dried cherries, and chopped almonds. A lovely, sweet ending to the perfect meal.
